I had a talk at the Information Security Summit 2025 in Prague. IS2 is a nice conference with a broad range of cybersecurity topics and unique atmosphere.
The conference covered a very broad range of cybersecurity-related topics, from military intelligence, through regulatory compliance, to cryptography, media, and geopolitics. Of course, artificial intelligence could not be left out. Although the ever-present AI hype was there, I have seen some excellent uses of AI as well: pragmatic, safe, and reliable. It is nice to see that not everybody is lost in the AI hype.
My talk was focused on identity myths. There are many practices in identity field that are simple, easy to understand, and completely wrong. My talk described a handful of such myths. Some of these pitfalls has been repeated again and again for (at least) last two decades, other are quite new. Check out my slides and paper for details.
IS2 conference was an excellent opportunity to broaden the horizons. I like this kind of conferences, the diverse set of topics give me an opportunity to learn a lot of new things. In return, I hope that my presentation provided useful insights to the cybersecurity community.
