Authentication methods are constantly evolving. Today, traditional authentication with a username and password is not enough. There are different authentication methods that can be employed. That’s why we introduced the new concept of flexible authentication in midPoint 4.1. Authentication methods in midPoint can now be configured in many different ways using various combinations of authentication modules.
The webinar held on May 16, 2024, was an introduction to the concept of flexible authentication. We talked about the basic building blocks and their configuration, such as authentication modules and the sequences they form. We looked at which modules are currently supported in midPoint 4.8.3 and where we can use them. We showed how we can combine individual modules into sequences. Finally, we looked at one simple and one complex example of the use of flexible authentication.
