Yet midPoint is not simply European by origin: it is European in ownership, too: Evolveum has always been owned by European citizens, with no non-European entity in its ownership chain.

Evolveum’s European ownership goes beyond its registration or headquarters: it is rooted in the people who built the company. Bootstrapped without any external investors, Evolveum is owned by three Slovak holding companies (information available in the Slovak business register here, here, and here) with its co-founders and some of its longest-serving employees among the shareholders and representatives. These are the people who have shaped Evolveum and midPoint from the beginning and continue to have a stake in the company’s future. There is no non-European parent company or external non-European owner or investor behind Evolveum. Its ownership remains firmly rooted in the people who built it, keeping strategic decisions, long-term direction, and the technology itself within European hands. European ownership is therefore more than a label we apply to our business: it is part of the independence on which our approach to technological sovereignty is built.
